Presentation with client.

Hei Assalamualaikum,
Tadi saya pi jumpa client duk present artwork saya. Punye la neves. Haa. First time kuttt.

Tapi nak dipendekan cerita saye tak prepare sangat sebab baru perasan yang saye kene present pukul 7PM dan saye check email pukul 6PM, betul2 lepas saya sampai rumah.

Pum pang pum pang.

Buat slideshow, prepare sikit-sikit, pakai baju cantik2 sikit biar confident then lari balik ke uni.
Duk la baca bismillah bagai then client kata

I was like, alhamdulillah hi rabil alamin (segala puji bagi Allah tuhan sekalian alam). So hopefully, kalau mereka berkenan dengan artwork saya ni, mereka nak beli. Boleh la saye simpan duit :')

My Kakak My.. Hero ..?

Ini la poster yang kakak saye suruh design tu.

Semalam duk stay up buat projek. Tiba-tiba pagi tadi kakak suruh check facebook, rupa2nya dia suruh saye design poster. Tak pernah pernah dia suruh saye designkan benda untuk dia melainkan card khawin. Hentah bila nak khawin pon tak tau.

Basically, dia suka la poster yang saye telah designkan untuk dia sebab selama ni dia tak pernah puji malah tak suka art work saya. Hihihi. Makanya saya improve.

I am proud of myself :D

Anddd, salah satu kelemahan saya buat poster. I guess I am just lucky this time, poster menjadi. Haaa.

Okay ada crits esok, dah pi sambung buat projek.

Saya stress dan decided nak lukis saja2 walaupon project uni sangat banyak.

Me : Kak Enol, tengok ni. (sambil tunjuk lukisan Giraffs tu)
Kak Enol : Awww so cute
Me : Tapi ni bukan uni project, saya buat for fun.
Kak Enol : Heh ? -_-'
Kak Mun : Budak seni memang. Lain yang disuruh, lain yang dibuatnya.
Me : ..... Saya agree

I found it really ironic la bila buat personal artwork saya sangat bahagia dan gembira but when it comes to uni work.. saya sangat stress dan sengsara :P

Kebetulan okay kebetulan, artwork giraffs boleh diselit ke salah satu university project saya. Oh Allah. Luckkkyyyyyyy.

Uni artwork VS Personal artwork

Mungkin ini masaalah saye je kut. Dimana project uni banyak gila...
Macam sedar je project menggunung dengan tingginya tapi still duk sibuk buat personal artwork.

Personal artwork ni bukan memakan masa sejam dua, tapi empat ke lima jam then saya boleh buat dengan happy dan bahagianya pulak tu.

Okay I think I need to force myself to do my project hmm
or I should bahagi masa anddd don't forget to baca bismillah.

Well guess what, tadi kat uni lepas habis buat kerja kat screen print workshop saya duduk la sat kat studio then my lecturer said

Matt : Oh Zatul, you got a present.
Me : What? Me?
Matt : Yeah, it is in your draw (laci)
Me : *confuse face* from who ?
Matt : Ralph Steadman

I was like.. WHAT ! ! *berjalan ke drawer saya*
Taaadaaaaa.

So basically Steadman hadiahkan buku ni dekat saya sebab saya duk sembang and tanya soalan dekat dia waktu kami skype kat lecture theater haritu.

I am buzzing and I will cherish this forever.

Hari ni one of my favourite illustrator (pelukis) datang kat studio saya *Happy dance* I was so excited. Nama dia Kristyna Baczynski (saya still tak leh nak sebut last name dia).

Kristyna : Do you want to talk about your work?
Me: Oh yes sure. Omg, I am so nervous. I admire and love your work a lot !
Kristyna : Oh don't be nervous and thank you.

Then we talked and talked and talked. She seems to like my ideas *Big smile*. My hands was still shaking after 15 minutes talking to her and my heart was beating so fast. Nampak tak keadmirean disitu?

Like bila pergi usrah recharge iman, bila jumpa illustrators recharge.. semangat untuk belajar and explore illustration dengan lebih mendalam.

That moment bila saya dapat berdiri sebelah dia and belek2 sketchbook dia. Happy sangat. Dah la saya dengan tak malunya tanya banyak soalan dan dia pon layaaaaan je. Haaa.

Oh lupa, dia cakap kat saya 'Each person got 1000 bad drawings in them. So your job is to let those bad drawings go by drawing them, just let them go on your sketchbooks'

He tweeted this photo. Look at the laptop's screen you can see my face. Lols. 

Ralph Steadman ni seorang pelukis yang terkemuka dalam abad ni.
Hari jummat haritu saya and kawan2 skype dengan dia dekat lecture theater and saya tanya la soalan.

Me: Oh how do you overcome your mistakes in your work as I am aware that you don't use Photoshop?

Then he shouted at my face 'I TOLD YOU THERE ARE NO MISTAKES', 'Do not rubber it out, you should use white paint or something to cover it up, so it will be a part of your artwork', 'mistakes are good as you are communicating with your artwork...' 

He gave me pretty good advices. Thank you Steadman.

Dream came true

Okay, korang tau tak perasaan bila korang nak something for years and years then suddenly korang dapat benda tu?

Well I do.
I have been dreaming nak ade MacBook and all Adobe in it (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effect etc) and yes, alhamdulillah (one of ) my dream has finally came true *nangis*

Saya beli a MacBook 13'' Pro Retina like.. 2 days ago (10.2.2014. Apple, Leeds Trinity)

Then tadi 1st time guna my graphic tablet setelah sekian lama ia tersadai. Ade nak dekat 2 tahun jugak la.

Okay Zatul, please jangan lupa Allah :')

Crack !

salah satu page for my book

I have two deadlines end of this month and one of them is.. a book of
'Crack !' - Ala kan bila korang terpijak siput pastu ada bunyi 'crack!'

Menceritakan tentang how snails have been stepped on. (Macam mana siput dipijak).

Buku saya ini ada 28 muka surat tapi, saya dah siap.... ermmm... ermm.. separuh muka surat?

Oh yeah, buku saya ni tak ada perkataan sangat. so 28 muka surat tu penuh dengan lukisan.

I don't think I will be sleeping for the next two weeks.
Essay lagi.

Panda eyes = Typical art student.

VUSHHH *bungi angin

I draw most of the time.
Kalau korang tengok dalam diary saya or dalam buku tazkirah saya (opss) or dalam sketchbook saya, or kat dinding bilik saya penuh dengan lukisan.
Ape yang saya lukis pon tak tau la.

But the thing is bila dah nak lukis untuk university work, tangan saya jadi kaku.
I don't know why. Mate, what is wrong with me??
Macam confident untuk melukis tu VUSHHHHHH *sound effect : angin*  hilang.

Kalau duk boring2 senang je tangan ni nak menari atas kertas. -_-

Huhuhu.
Serious. Degree memang challenging.
I think I need to check my niat as well as my hubungan dengan Allah.

Critique

Hari Jumaat haritu kami ade critique atau crits.
One of the activity was, semua orang kena display all their final designs.
Lepastu letak sekeping kertas sebelah final designs tu.
Then semua orang kene tulis NEGATIVE thing about that final designs.

Mateee, it was harder than i thought !
Sebab semua final designs tu cantik kut.

Matt (my lecturer) said ' You always getting better at drawing. If  you feel bad about it, don't leave it. Change it, keep practising. For example if you can't draw hand, don't run away from it. Keep practising because it won't run away from you. At the end of the day you still need to draw hand'

DUSHH, kata kata Matt memang terkesan sungguh dihati. Engraved kut.

InDesign

I still remember when I used to hate Illustrator the most, but now Illustrator is my favourite design software ever ! !

I bet.. let say in 5 years time, I probably going to say ' I still remember when I used to hate InDesign the most but now InDesign is one of my favourite design software ever after Illustrator'
